The Witness is on par to sell more copies in its first week than Braid sold in its first year. Creator Jonathan Blow told Twitter that he isn’t able to talk about exact numbers without breaking any non-disclosure agreements, but will post again when The Witness officially breaks that record.

Braid, Blow’s award-winning 2008 puzzle-platformer, is said to have brought in around four million dollars total—all of which was reportedly used to fund The Witness. With Braid priced at $15, and The Witness at $40, it’s likely Blow will pull in a lot more.
